An ISO 27001 certificate runs on a three-year cycle: certification, a surveillance audit in years one and two, and recertification in year three. Each step is a natural point to change tools, and your tool contract usually renews around the same time. Moving well before the next audit leaves room to verify the new workspace without pressure. The weeks right before a surveillance audit are the wrong time, and we will say so in the scoping conversation. Your certification body and auditor stay the same either way.
